Incredibleart.org

http://www.incredibleart.org/  Is another great resource for lesson plans.  This site is good for all things for teaching art from rubrics to lesson plans. This site seems to be useful when I am planning a unit and need lots of supporting information around my activity.

Dick Blick Lesson Plans

I really enjoy planning with http://www.dickblick.com/lesson-plans/
This art supply company offers plans and some videos of things that you can do in your classroom. When written words are just not enough for you to get excited about a project, you can start here.  With their video  lessons teachers and students can see how supplies come together for a project.  Lessons are organized by grade level and/or media type.  This is my favorite lesson plan go to site.

Donorschoose.org

Donorschoose.org is a site used by teachers to gain supplies for their classroom.  This site is not restricted to art supplies.  I have been very successful in my use of this site.  The site walks you through a process step by step to create a project, shop, and load your items into a shopping cart.  People from all around can give any amount that they desire to your project.  So, facebook friends may give $20.00 or someone in New York that you don't know may fund the whole thing.  Once a project is funded through the site the items are purchased and sent to your door.  All that is required is that you allow your students to write thank you letters, take a few pictures, and write a thank you letter from you.  They even pay postage for you to send your student letters in to the company.  There is a point system that allows for you to gain or loose points for punctuality and participation.  This site put a little power in your hands when you want to do a special project.  I hope that you have great luck with Donorschoose.org.www.donorschoose.org

Artsonia.com

Artsonia.com is the world's largest kids art gallery!  I love this for my classroom because students are able to make a digital portfolio of their work.  Kids loose stuff!  Artsonia.com keeps it forever.

A student that begins art with me in the 7th grade can track their progress and build their portfolio over time.

The account belongs to the student.  So, if a student moves to another school they can still view and add to their portfolio.

There is also an app for that!  The app allows for easy use of this site.  As a teacher, I can snap a picture with my phone and drop it where it needs to go very easily. The students can do this too.  I plan to make big use of this when our school allows students to bring their own devices next school year.

This site offers a store where items may be purchased that have the student's art on each item! Parents love this if they know about it.  15% of sells comes back to your classroom.  This would make a great fundraiser for elementary school students.

When a teacher puts a class set of work onto the site, other students are able to see for themselves how others did the project.  This can encourage better work without saying a word.

Comments can be left but are screened through the parent's email and the parent must allow the posting.

There is also a section that is a resource for lesson plans.  I can be inspired by a project that another school is doing and look up their plan to add it to my year.

It is such a useful awesome site....I hope you will give it a try in your class room.
